If you ask me I would say Deepika Padukone is a silly unprofessional actress who is trying to stay in the industry on the basis of her relationships status with various male celebrities and by signing movies with big banners. Deepika Padukone was brought to the hindi film industry by Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan in their Dard e Disco movie (I can’t even recall the name of that movie). Since then she hasn’t given a single blockbuster or super hit movie.

She first led the media to believe that there is a relationship thing going on between her and Indian Cricketer Mahinder Singh Dhoni, later on she was linked with Yuvraj singh, and then Ranbir Kapoor. Deepika’s relationship with Ranbir Kapoor was the only time she herself and her boyfriend admitted that they are seeing each other. But then she broke up with him and now the news is that Ranbir and Deepika has patched things up. Come on girl, give us a break.

On the other hand she is demanding that the industry should give her the same respect and money that they are offering other bollywood actresses. Particularly Priyanka Chopra. Now I believe that Priyanka Chopra is one of the few talented bollywood actresses and Deepika is no where closer to her in terms of performance and acting skills. What made Deepika so jealous of Priyanka?

Well apparantely while her boyfriend Ranbir was on a break from their phony relationship, he got attracted to Priyanka Chopra. It was reported in the media that the two stars were seen at fancy restaurants together. Ranbir Kapoor openly said that he would very much love to work with Priyanka Chopra as he believes that Priyanka is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood today. If this was not enough, Deepika’s ex co-star from her super flop movie Chandni Chowk To China, Akshay Kumar also expressed his desire to work with Priyanka Chopra again.

Recently when Deepika was offered a role in Anurag Basu’s upcoming film with Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, she demanded that she should be paid the same amount of money as Priyanka Chopra. Even though her role is a smaller one and Priyanka Chopra is the lead actress, Deepika refused Anurag’s request to reconsider her decission. Anurag is still hopeful, but let me tell you guys, Deepika would never accept the offer even if she is paid the same amount. Because she knows Priyanka will completely overshadow her.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif announced their engagement last year. Since then media is speculating over their wedding plans. Salman Khan has expressed a desire to get married as soon as possible, but Katrina is always telling around that she is more focused on her career right now. A week ago, some Marathi language newspaper published a story that Katrina is already married. Later the newspaper denied the story and Katrina cleared it up saying that the world will know when she gets married.

But Salman Khan fans are not very happy with Katrina’s attitude. The first thing that the Salman Khan fans don’t like is Katrina Kaif’s pairing with Akshay Kumar. While talking to a die hard Sallu fan, I tried to convince him that Katrina is an actoress and film makers think it is more profitable to sign her with Akshay than Salman Khan. Even Salman Khan’s home production “Partner” had Katrina paired with Govinda not with Salman Khan.

Secondly, they don’t like the rumors about Katrina’s growing friendship with Ranbir Kapoor. Just today I read that Katrina will be spending Valentine’s day with Ranbir Kapoor on sets of “Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani” in Turkey. Deepika Padukone, who is dating Ranbir since a long time now, is not very happy with the situation. It is reported that she visits the sets more often than expected and is acting overly protective of Ranbir Kapoor. We don’t really know whats on Katrina’s mind. But Salman Khan who had always been more expressive about his love life is also acting wierd. There are rumors of Salman Khan’s interest in the new actoress Asin. We can only speculate, and most people are expecting to hear the news of a break up.

Bollywood has a tradition of following the trends. Once a movie with romantic theme becomes popular you would see every one making a romantic film. In recent years Hera Pheri sat a trend of comedy movies and got many more movies with similar themes including a sequel to Hera Pheri.

Sikh community has been ridiculed a lot in jokes and also in Hindi cinema as part of comic relief. But it was Akshay who decided to tribute to the simplicity of Sikh life style. So he did and became the king. So is it like another lucky charm for Bollywood machos or real big support to the neglected community. These days Sikhs are the new trend, and soon we will be seeing lots of movies with Sikh main characters in them.

Saif Ali Khan’s Home production picks Imtiaz Ali because he recently gave a big block buster “Jab we met” and Imtiaz decided to give Saif a new avatar of Sardarji; only in some flash back sequences. Saif is also pairing new sizzling Deepika Padukone in this film for the first time; so, all
demanding and desirable elements are captured in the film.

The Sikh Turban is becoming the hottest trend and people will soon watch Salman Khan playing a sardar in Samir Karnik’s multi starrer “Heroes” and would have been nice to watch the fairy-face hot actor Ranbir Kapoor who is also ready to play a sardar in Shimit Amit’s next flick.

In an interview Akshay mentioned about the backdrop of ‘Singh is King’ that how the project started. He read the line “singh is King” behind a rickshaw (a three wheeler) once and liked it and later on we can see how the whole idea emerged into the movie. Now the success of other movies following the Singh trend depends on how other work on their
ideas to emerge as a hit movie.

Deepika Padukone appeared to watch a few cricket matches and talked a few cricketers casually. Media made stories out of her interest in Cricket and made it look like she is dating either Dhoni or Yuvraj Singh. Even Yuvraj felt like he is falling love with Deepika. How could any one be that stupid? I mean how could a girl, who is only 22 years old, who has just started her career in movies with a blockbuster hit, could afford to fall in love with a Cricketer? It is good to be linked up with as many famous and handsome guys as possible, but taking it longer than a week is not good for Deepika’s newly shaped up Dream Girl image. It is reported that in national media that Deepika was really seeing Yuvraj Singh and flew all the way to Australia just to greet him on his birthday. As soon as she returned back to her filmi life she sent an SMS to Yuvraj telling him that she has found someone else.

Apprantely this some one else is none-other than Ranbir Kapoor. Now Ranbir also had a story of getting linked up with a few actoresses. He was first linked with Sonam Kapoor and then with Deepika. It seemed like media liked Yuvraj+Deepika combination much better and they kept running stories about them. So finally Deepika and Ranbir had to openly admit that they are dating.  Recently Ranbir told all about his relationship with Deepika in an interview. He admitted that they are seeing each other and they do not have any plans to get married immidiately. In another interview Deepika told that she has met Ranbir’s parents, not as a co-star but as their son’s girlfriend.

What happened to poor Yuvraj? Well, Yuvraj has a taste for Bollywood girls. He first dated Kim Sharma, then Deepika for a few weeks and now it is rumored that he is dating Raima Sen.

Bollywood is really progressing now. No one can rule over the box office with only good looks. One needs extra ordinary acting and dancing skills with lots of charisma to keep with the competitors.

I was disappointed to see two young actors debuting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s mega budget movie, Saawariya. Their only claim to fame was that their fathers were super stars of Indian cinema. I thought that being a multi million dollar industry, investors in Bollywood should learn to invest their money on really talented people. I was wrong, how could I say that these two youngsters were not talented with out seeing the movie. When I saw the movie, I realized that the two new comers Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor are brilliant actors.

To be very honest Ranbir Kapoor is an ordinary looking guy with extra ordinary charms on his hand. He acted so well that I finished the movie despite the crappy script, annoying dialogues and heavy-on-eye sets. I loved the song Jab say teray Naina. It is the song where Ranbir is wrapped in a Towel and showing his beautiful, youthful and admirable body. We have seen enough of Salman’s shirtless body. Shahrukh’s abs in Om Shanti Om were sensational too. But these guys are old and they do not excite us the way Ranbir did.

Sonam Kapoor is definitely not as pretty as Om Shanti Om’s Deepika. But she is definitely a much more talented actoress. Bhansali failed to dress her up properly, he also failed to offer her some classy dance number, but he managed to show the innocence and beauty of the character. It was hard to believe that this Sonam’s first movie. She delivered her lines confidently and succeeded to fill colors in her role.

I am not saying that Saawariya is a great movie. It is neither great nor good. In fact it is Bhansali’s failed attempt to mixing up art and commercial cinema. But you can not deny the fact that Bhansali made it look beautiful. Ranbir and Sonam were the best choice. Rani Mukherjee gave a mindblowing performance as Gulab ji. But there were also many weak points. For example Salman’s mysterious character wasn’t presented properly. Dialogues were not well written, there were several holes in the script. The sets were great to portray the fictious city but the blue and green scenery became too heavy on eyes after the first hour of the movie. The role of Ranbir Raj’s grandmother Zohra Sehgal resembled a lot like Anari‘s Mrs. D’sza played by Lalita Pawar.

Bhansali should realize that not all great stories meant to be filmed and converted to Hindi Cinema. There must be some really great writers with really great and untold stories available in the market. It would be great if for once Bhansali gives us a story that is not told before. He should stop mimmicking the great canvases of legendary stories with his artistic touch. Instead, it would be truly great if he shows us his work with his own canvas and his own true colors.

Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor’s son, Ranbir Kapoor is debuting into the bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawaryia. Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor is also debuting from this movie which is expected to be released in November 2007.

Saawaryia will be the first ever Indian movie produced by a Hollywood production house, Sony Pictures India. The movie is based on a short story ‘White Nights’ by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I feel that it is a little too complex story to be made into a bollywood movie. But you know Bhansali, he is different and zara hat ke.

Ranbir Kapoor’s first movie is yet to be released but being a Kapoor, he already has offers for some big movies. Like Munna Bhai series’ director Rajkumar Hirani has signed Ranbir for a sarcastic comedy based on the education system. Rumors are around that Ranbir has also signed a role in third movie of the Dhoom series.
