Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif announced their engagement last year. Since then media is speculating over their wedding plans. Salman Khan has expressed a desire to get married as soon as possible, but Katrina is always telling around that she is more focused on her career right now. A week ago, some Marathi language newspaper published a story that Katrina is already married. Later the newspaper denied the story and Katrina cleared it up saying that the world will know when she gets married.

But Salman Khan fans are not very happy with Katrina’s attitude. The first thing that the Salman Khan fans don’t like is Katrina Kaif’s pairing with Akshay Kumar. While talking to a die hard Sallu fan, I tried to convince him that Katrina is an actoress and film makers think it is more profitable to sign her with Akshay than Salman Khan. Even Salman Khan’s home production “Partner” had Katrina paired with Govinda not with Salman Khan.

Secondly, they don’t like the rumors about Katrina’s growing friendship with Ranbir Kapoor. Just today I read that Katrina will be spending Valentine’s day with Ranbir Kapoor on sets of “Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani” in Turkey. Deepika Padukone, who is dating Ranbir since a long time now, is not very happy with the situation. It is reported that she visits the sets more often than expected and is acting overly protective of Ranbir Kapoor. We don’t really know whats on Katrina’s mind. But Salman Khan who had always been more expressive about his love life is also acting wierd. There are rumors of Salman Khan’s interest in the new actoress Asin. We can only speculate, and most people are expecting to hear the news of a break up.

The much awaited film of the year 2008 “Singh is Kinng” hits the doors of box office and creating waves. The goers who are planning to watch the comedy flick just keep it in their minds that to watch such a comedy film one has to keep brains behind before fastening the seat belts. ”Singh is King” is full time Paisa Vasool and fun filled joy ride with all the ingredients. 

It is a story of two Sikh Characters Happy and Lucky, accidentally Happy becomes the king of crime in Australia, and now it is the duty of Happy from the Village in Punjab to bring back the innocent Lucky back from the world of crime. Did he succeed you would only know after watching the movie. 

Bollywood’s most demanding and hit couple Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif  paired in this Punjabi happy drama “Singh is King”. The elements which really made this film a hit were chemistry between Akki and Kat, Akshay as Lucky the village guy with his naiveness, falling in love with Kat who is studying criminology, and trying to rescue the innocence Happy. 

Akshay as usual performed very well, his character is little exaggerated but he did justice to his role. This is Katrina’s sixth continuous hit and she looked gorgeous and sexy in the film, Kat is improving day by day with each new film, Neha Dhopia is looking sexy in her outfits and she did a good job. Sono Sood also did well and now he is entering the “A” class film with short characters. Om Puri is excellent in his get up and dialogue delivery so as Kirron Kher.  

Pritam really did a good job in directing music, there are a variety of songs,  different numbers with different feelings. ‘Bhotni ke’ is really a funny number and succeeds to bring laughs on viewers faces, ‘Teri Oar’ is a melodious number with the flavor of romance in it, ‘Jee karda’ is upbeat, overall the music is good party scores and the tracks are DJs favorite in parties these days. The surprise is first time Aksay also sang in this film. 

Directed by  Anees Bazmi, a film overall very slick, the first half of the film is a lot of fun and very much entertaining with all the punches and timing for the comedy, and definitely with an interesting story line. Some scenes are hilarious like when Akki is chasing the hen or scenes between Akshay and Ompuri. Besides second half of a film is more drama with touch of emotions (very much desi Indian style) in it but it contrasts with first half, and with an abrupt ending. 

Just few more things which can not bring down the status of the film but Rranbir Shorey is badly used, Javed Jaffery’s item song was not needed, and even in the film Mr. Aazmi could use more of the same chemistry of Akshay and Ompuri in the second half of the film also to bring more punches and lightness for audience to laugh.  

Direction is good in first half but the second half was like the director was in hurry to complete the film.On the whole it’s a worth seeing film and for Akshay’s fans it is strongly recommended film.

Shahrukh Khan is always in the news and he should be after all he is the King of Bollywood. But it seems like not every one is happy with the King Khan. Recently he had a fight with Salman Khan on Salman Khan’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s birthday party. Apparantely some people say that it started when Shahrukh Khan commented about Salman Khan’s relation with Aishawarya Rai who dumped Salman Khan and married Abhishek Bachchan. Both stars kept quite about the incident for a few weeks but now Salman Khan has talked to the media about the incident and admitted that he had a spat with Shahrukh Khan that night. He said that Shahrukh and I are two very different individuals and we could never be friends.

On the other hand Shahrukh Khan’s production house red chillies has lost the case where legendary Indian actor Manoj Kumar filed a suit in Mumbai session court asking for the deletion of the scenes where his patriotism is spoofed in the movie Om Shanti Om.

Shahrukh Khan’s house “Mannat” which always remained in the news for its real estate value, historical significanc, ideal sea facing location and numerous complains filed by several social organizations, political activists and government authorities. Recently another social activist Simpreet Singh filed a petition against the construction Shahrukh Khan’s house, Mannat.

Salman Khan threw a big party on the occassion of his girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s birthday on 16th July. The party has become the talk of the town for three reasons. First, Salman Khan proposed Katrina Kaif. Secondly, after a very long time there was an event where the media saw the three Khans (Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan) of bollywood under one roof. Thirdly, some Mumbai based tabloids reported of a fight between Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan.

It is said that Salman Khan was poking fun at Shahrukh Khan. Salman joked about Shahrukh Khan’s recent flops but what made Shahrukh Khan loose temper was when Salman Khan said that “Shahrukh Khan is a superstar who is Paanchvi Fail”. This was pointed towards Shahrukh Khan’s unsuccessful television show “Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass se Tez hain”. Shahrukh Khan said something in return and then there was a full blown verbal fight between the stars. Shahrukh’s wife Gauri took him out of the party when it looked like that the two actors are going to attack each other physically.

We don’t know how much of this is truth. SAWF’s Vijainder K Thakur talked to his journalist friends who were present at the party. He writes:

a surprising fact about the spat is that no journalist seems to have witnessed it, and there were a lot of them there!

Salman Khan has reacted to the media reports of the fight on his blog. But in his response he neither confirmed nor refused that any such thing happened at the party. However, he is angry over the media reports. In his response he compared the journalists with street dogs. Salman’s girlfriend Katrina and Shahrukh Khan were questioned by media about the fight but they did not comment.

I just learnt from Rediff that Salman Khan has finally proposed Katrina Kaif. It is reported that Salman Khan proposed Katrina at the party he gave to celebrate Katrina’s birthday on 16 July. It was a grand event as the cream of bollywood was invited. Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were among the guests. However, It is not yet confirmed that whether Katrina has said “Yes” or not. Or may be it was just a publicity stunt? I have doubted Salman Katrina relationship since day one. I don’t think that any girl would be stupid enough to get married at the peak of her career.

Nearly 43 years old, Salman Khan is Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor since a long time now. He has dated several co-stars but all his relationships ended tragically. Most often his girlfriends claimed that Salman is a violent person who does not mind beating his girl friends. He dated Aishwarya Rai for a few years and it was rumored that they are getting married soon. But that relationship ended terribly. Aishwarya’s parents accused Salman Khan for harassing their daughter. They even filed a police complain against him. Most Salman fans believe that Salman is an innocent lover boy who just can’t find the right girl. Most of them think that the cute and innocent Katrina Kaif is the right girl for Salman Khan.

Katrina Kaif who was rumored to be manhandled by boyfriend Salman Khan has denied that any such thing ever happened. However people bought the news already and Salman’s previous reputation makes him appear as the guy who beats his girlfriends. Well usually Salman beats his girlfriends when they are about to leave him for greener grasses. So if there is any truth in the rumor then Katrina is either sky rocketing towards the new peaks or packing back to London (or where ever she came from). However, chances are that Katrina’s career is going to climb new heights, after all she was most successful lead actoress last year. Even though she did nothing more than giggling and jumping in these movies but well she is pretty what else you can ask for?

In a recent interview with the Business Of Cinema Katrina told about signing a three movie contract with Studio 18. She also talked about how her new changed image in Bollywood and said she feels that people are now showing her more acceptance. She also revealed that she has nearly doubled her prices. It is also reported that Katrina will appear in Kabir Khan’s next movie which is produced by Yash Raj Films.

I was not able to find out any news of her getting married to Salman Khan. It seems just like we talked in a previous post that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are very much a fake couple, they are more fake than the most fake couple of the industry, that is Kareena and Saif. Definitely Katrina has just begun her career and she sees no reason whatsoever to change her career plans to meet Salman Khan’s desperate desire to settle down. Is she going to break our hunky Salman Khan’s heart? Well yes and no. Yes she is going to leave Salman Khan very soon and no she does not have Salman’s heart she was just playing along to help Salman improve his image in media after the so called illegal hunting controversy. He also needed a girlfriend that is presentable to media at the time when his ex girlfriend Aishwarya Rai was getting married to the Bachchan and entire world was talking about this wedding and how Aishwarya ditched Salman Khan.

There were rumors in media when Salman Khan spent three days in the jail last time and the girlfriend Katrina Kaif didn’t cancel her filming schedule. But this time, Katrina decided to leave no room for rumors and visited Salman Khan in the jail. Accompanied by Salman Khan’s sister Alvira and brother Arbaaz Khan. Unlike all ex girlfriends of Salman, Katrina has proved that she is closer to Salman’s family. Katrina’s visit has once again sparked gossips that she and Salman are going to get married. Even though Katrina and Salman’s family didn’t give any comments to media about their visit. But it was noticed that Katrina was looking sad, she was wearing a white kurta with jeans.

Salman Khan was jailed for hunting down an endangered Chinkara deer in the forests of Rajhistan. Salman Khan has had some serious legal troubles during last ten years. On September 28, 2002 he was arrested for rash and negligent driving. He was under the influence of alcohol and his car veered onto a sidewalk outside a bakery in Mumbai. One person who was sleeping on the sidewalk died and three others were injured. Charges of culpable homicide were laid against him, but later dropped. However, some legal action in this case appears to be on-going. The Chinkara Hunting case begun in February 2006 when Salman Khan was sentenced to one year imprisonment. Since then Salman has appealed in several courts. Right now his lawyers are trying to get him released on bail.

While Salman is spending sleepless nights in jail the Indian public is debating about Salman being trapped in the case because he is a Muslim. This is a common practice in India where people try to paint things in religious, ethnic and caste system backgrounds. Some people try to get themselves political benefits while other just love to dive in to prove something or the other completely forgetting that the real people behind the issue are human beings with emotions of their own.

Partner is a fun to watch movie. It may not be as cool as ‘Mujh Se Shadi Karo gi’ but still it is a very typically David Dhawan movie. Salman Khan plays the role of Prem aka Love Guru. He helps men find the girls of their dreams and teaches them the style and tips to win the hearts of their dream girls. Govinda is an ordinary man who is insanely in love with his boss Katrina Kaif. Govinda seeks Salman’s help to win the love of Katrina but Salman thinks that Govinda is so hopeless that it is impossible for him to get the attention of a girl who owns a thousand crore rupee business. While Salman is helping Govinda finding love, he himself falls in love with Lara Dutta, a journalist who writes a gossip column in a local tabloid.

The movie is non-stop comedy and it would make you laugh out loudly. Salman Khan and Govinda make an excellent couple and they reminded me of Tara Sitara from Ek or Ek Gayarah one of the best David Dhavan movies. Forgive me, may be this review would sound too positive but I can not help myself. I just love David Dhavan movies and with the always eager to go shirtless Salman Khan, the very ordinarily extra ordinary comedian Govinda, the beauties like Laura Datta and Katrina Kaif you have no choice but to love the movie.

Songs of Partner
The songs of Partner are fun, lively and joyful. Just like the movie, the soundtrack has a naughty tone to it. Composed by Sajid-Wajid, these tunes are catchy, dancy, bollywoodish jhatka matka songs. David Dhavan is not only famous for his comedy movies but he is also famous for giving them a well balanced and joyfully choreographed songs. He has a style and every one can notice that from the lal dupatta of Aankhein to the Dupatta ‘ Tera Nau Rang Da’ of Partner David has travelled a big journey without changing his style. The beats are changed but you still sense the comic appeal of these songs.

However the music is not as impressive as in ‘Mujh se Shadi karo gi’ but still the songs are fun to listen. Maria Maria, Soni De Nakhre and you are my love. All these songs are targetted towards masses the same typical crowd that worships David Dhavan’s laughter marathons.

Katrina Kaif in Partner

She is beautiful. You know that she is not a great actress but she is so pretty and innocent that you are ready to accept her in the movie. Katrina’s role in Partner demanded no acting skills and it was easier for her to carry on the character with his same flat expression less face. Vikram Phadnis designed Katrina some very elegant dresses for the movie. With her incredibly good looks and charm she did wonderful job. Remember I previously posted some pictures of Katrina Kaif and we have also discussed her relationship with Salman Khan on this blog. Even though Katrina is not the love interest of Salman Khan in the movie but you can see the sparks whenever they are together in different scenes of the movie. I would desperately like to see Katrina and Salman together in a movie.
