Based on a previous post on Desi Galaxy, we ask our readers to vote and tell us what they think about Bachchan’s not inviting Muslims to attend Abhishek’s wedding?

49 out of 125 think that Salman and Katrina are really in love.
29 out of 125 voted that they are more interested in Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan wedding.
28 out of 125 thought that it is none of their business to spend time thinking about whether or not Salman and Katrina will get married.

It has been rumored that Bachchans did not invite a single Muslim colleague or friend to attend the wedding of Abhishek Bachchan. Well they also didn’t invite a whole lot of Hindu, Sikh, Christians but surprisingly there is not even a single Muslim celebrity or politician who attended the Big Bollywood wedding. May be it is just a coincidence but what I have read about the religious activities of the Bachchans and Aishwarya Rai to remove some superstitious astrological curse, makes me believe that they are a religious family. May be they feared that a Muslim attending their pious spiritual Hindu wedding would cause them some astrological harm or would make this marriage unlucky. Or some other stupid super mythological beliefs.

We have read that, Shahrukh Khan was not invited. This guy has worked in many movies with Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan were not invited. Because Hrithik’s wife is Muslim. It is rumored that the Bachchans specifically asked Mumbai police not to send any Muslim police officer to provide them security. Private security guards hired by the Bachchans were all Hindus.

Well of course it is none of anyone’s business to discuss the religious beliefs of the Bachchans. I wish that these rumors are not true. But unfortunately it seems like no matter how secular and modern India has become, no matter how people of different religions work closely, there is an integration but when the time comes to show just how integrated different Indian cultures are people prefer to remain secluded in their own religious nutshells.

This week’s most interesting question was “How many times Aishwarya Rai been married?”

We answered this question in our post titled “Aishwarya Rai - Bride of Trees“. Aishwarya Rai who is now married to Abhishek Bachchan has previously married trees to get rid of the mangalik curse.

Another question related to Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi and why the broke up. We tried to answer this question in Aishwarya Rai’s biography here at Desi Galaxy. Actually Aishwarya was never in love or a relationship with Vivek, however Vivek often expressed his love for Aishwarya. But the truth is that they never had anything beyond casual friendship.

About Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s wedding, well its not going to happen. Not atleast this month or in near future.

We would like to know your opinion about Salman’s marriage plans and Katrina’s denial?

Times of India reports that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are getting married on 18th of this month just two days before Aishwarya and Abhishek’s wedding. I don’t know how much truth these rumors have, Katrina Kaif has denied these rumors as ‘nonsense’. She told the times that she is in Dubai shooting for her upcoming movie with Saif Ali Khan throughout the month of April. On the other hand some sources quote Salman saying that he made the announcement in light of his urgency to get married and refused to comment further.

I wrote about the relationship between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. To me their relationship is just as fake as Katrina’s Hindi accent. While Salman Khan is pretending that he is totally and madly in love once again, Katrina keeps her distance she pretends that there is something between them and then she also pretends that this something between them is nothing really important at all. So basically there is no relationship or commitment between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Perhaps the only commitment they have made to eachother is that they will help each other getting some space in gossip columns, tabloids and entertainment sections of newspapers, magazines and television.

I don’t think that Aishwarya Rai has any thing to do with what Salman Khan is doing right now. Salman is just trying to cash out from the popularity and the buzz around Abhishek Aishwarya wedding and Katrina is trying to remain in news by getting her name attached with Salman Khan. A middle aged man, who fell in love many times and each time he was left alone with a broken heart. He has a muscular body but deep down inside he is an innocent little boy desperately seeking love. This is the image Salman wants to present. And I think he is quite successful with his now much improved media relations.

Mallika Sherawat is in the news almost every day, still there is little we know about her past. She was born on October 24 1976 in Rohtak District, Haryana, India. She came from an orthodox family. She is alienated by her parents and family who are all very religious and don’t like what Mallika working in movies. In an interview Mallika told:

I have always wanted to be an actress. In spite of strong opposition from my orthodox family, I came to Mumbai in 2002 on completion of my graduation from Delhi University. In fact, I ran off from home to pursue my career. I knew my parents would never let me be an actress, so I had to take the bold step. However, I have a strong support from my kid brother Vikram, whom I love more than anything else in this world.

Mallika earned a degree in philosophy and graduated from Miranda House, Delhi University. Miranda house is a college for women, part of the Delhi University, this is the same school where actress Nandita Dass studied to obtain her Master’s degree in social work, and Mira Nair (critically acclaimed film maker) who studied socialogy there.

Mallika Sherawat’s real name is Reema Lamba. She adopted the screen name Mallika to avoid confusion with other actresses named Reema. Sherawat is her mother’s maiden name, Mallika said that she used Sherawat to thank her mother.

Mallika worked as an airhostess for some time. Even though Mallika has claimed to be a virgin, but this is a fact and she has also admitted that she married a pilot Karan Singh Gill for a berief period, the marriage ended in a divorce. Mallika doesn’t talk about her marriage and has often said that she hasn’t found the right person to get into a relationship.

Mallika started her career in Hindi Movies as an actress with Jeena Sirf Mere Liye 2002 which was a Tushar Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor movie and Mallika had a small role in the movie. Mallika has spoken often that her role was edited out from the movie. She told Stardust Magazine in March 2003:

I had a song with Tusshar Kapoor in Jeena Sirf Merre Liye and they cut it. I’m so happy nobody went to the theaters to watch the film. The only people who must have watched the film were Tusshar’s family, my family and Kareena’s

Next year Mallika appeared in Khawahish, the movied failed at the box office, but with all the over exposure of Mallika’s body through out the movie, Mallika didn’t go un-noticed. She then appeared in Mahesh Bhatt’s Murder.

With Murder, Mallika won mass approval from the audiences and the movie became the most successful hit of the year. This movied was based on a popular foriegn film Unfaithful. Mallika appeared in revealing out fits in the movie. Mallika Sherawat and Emran Hashmi Kissing scenes from murder were sensational as lip to lip kissing was considered taboo in Hindi movies at that time. Murder was a trend setter that allowed film makers to make up their minds and include kissing scenes in their movies if the script demands. Mallika was nominated best actress Zee Cine Awards for her role in Murder.

Since then Mallika never looked back. She is always in news controversies around her outfits, clothes, exposing her body in movies, kissing scenes, blunt statements and stage performances.

Her performance at the televised 2006 New Year’s Eve show at the hotel J.W. Marriot, in Mumbai, caused social activist Vinod Jain to urge police to take immediate action against the actress for wearing suggestive clothing. Mallika was dressed in a body-hugging skin suit and a silver bikini to top it. He said that Mallika’s dancing was distasteful and and portrayed Indian women indecently. Jain approached the Santa Cruz police station about the matter, but they told him that no one filed a complaint against her.

We have seen Madhuri Dixit, Sri Devi and several other bollywood actresses disappearing from the screen after getting married. But Aishwarya Rai has no plans to quit industry after getting married to Abhishek Bachchan. She is already busy in shooting of movies that are going to release after the wedding. She is playing the role of Jodha in the upcoming movie ‘Jodha Akbar‘ which is already most talked about movie in the industry at this moment. She also has some projects that would start after her getting married to Abhishek Bachchan.

A close source to Aishwarya told IANS, “She goes into all these assignments as soon as she completes ‘Jodha-Akbar’. There’s absolutely no reason to think she’d quit working after marriage. Everyone in the two families is very supportive of Aishwarya’s career. And that includes Jaya Bachchan.”

In the past we have seen Bollywood film-makers trying to earn some cash by presenting the real life couples in the movies. Like the classic Yash Chopra movie ‘Silsila‘. At that time there were rumors in media about the affair between Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. Amitabh Bachchan married Jaya Bhaduri before the filming of this movie but director earned some cold hard cash by making a movie on a real life love triangle.

This time these film makers might try to cast Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan together in a movie. But since Aishwarya Rai has already denied working with Salman Khan, we can assume that they would sign up either Hrithik Roshan or John Abraham to play the role of Salman Khan in a movie which will be slightly based on Aishwarya’s real life love affair. Bachchan’s are one of the most powerful families in the industry and it seems like they are a little conservative as well. But I feel that they are basically professional actors and if such a film is offered to Aishwarya and Abhishek without Salman Khan being a part of the package they won’t hesitate to work in it. Audiences are surely going to love such a movie.
