God Tussi Great Ho – Hindi Film Review

by @ 4:41 pm. Filed Under:

If I had to watch Bruce Almighty in Hindi I would have bought the dubbed Hindi DVD of the original movie. It is such an insult to audience of Indian films to show them a cheap copy of a popular and recent Hollywood movie. I am all willing to see “inspired from hollywood” material if it is well made and properly presented. Even though ‘God Tusi Great Ho‘ has some moments of charm but thats only because of the talented and the most experienced actors of the film industry that were casted into badly sketched roles. Salman Khan looked a 44 year old uncle trying to act juvenile it was a pathetic and shameless display of attempts on being funny. Priyanka Chopra was just looking good which is all she needs to stay in the business. Amitabh Bachchan, well now he is the icon of the Indian Film Industry but I think he should really retire now or at least save his enegies for world tours and advertisements. His attempts on acting God, were pathetic and it was too obvious that he wasn’t even half heartedly interested in the role he was playing.

Check out Rajeev Masand’s review of the movie on CNN-IBN, he writes:

Written and directed by Rumi Jaffery, the man credited with writing some of David Dhawan’s most entertaining films—Coolie No 1, Hero No 1 and Judwaa—God Tussi Great Ho is ultimately a colossal bore.

SearchIndia reviewed it as outright theft and ugly as hell in their review:

Although these two dinosaurs Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have been around in Bollywood for a gazillion years, yet their performance in God Tussi Great Ho is not even a millionth as good as that of Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman in Bruce Almighty.

Rediff called it Fake:

Instead the rehash is as loud as its interior decoration, as uncool as Salman Khan’s wardrobe, as ugly as Priyanka Chopra’s nose-ring, and as brain-dead as Sohail Khan’s performance.

Abhishekh Bachchan’s Upcoming Movie Trailer – Drona

by @ 4:29 pm. Filed Under:

Trailer for Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming Hindi movie “Drona” is out. We don’t know when the movie is going to be released but honestly we are not very enthusiastic about its release. Looking at the trailers, it seems like a cheap desi rip off several Hollywood movies. For example there is a scene in the trailer when Abhishek is shown fighting with dust monsters a scene stolen from The Mummy. There is another scene in the trailer where Abhishek is leaving behin a science lab that resembles a lot like Norman Osborn’s laboratory from the Spider man. The music is also heavily inspired from the music of hollywood super hero movies.

Eventhough the movie’s trailor looks like a cheap rip of hollywood but the title of movie “Drona” is taken from Hindu Mythology. Dronachariya was the teacher of Arjun in the Hindu epic Mahabarata. He was a master of advanced military arts, including the devastras (the weapons of gods). So I guess if the movie has a story line with elements from the Hindu Mythology than it will be a worth watching movie. If only the title of the main character is taken from the hindu epic than it would be such a waste of time to see Dronachariya pretending to be Spiderman, X-Men or Batman.

Shahrukh Khan pictureShahrukh Khan is always in the news and he should be after all he is the King of Bollywood. But it seems like not every one is happy with the King Khan. Recently he had a fight with Salman Khan on Salman Khan’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s birthday party. Apparantely some people say that it started when Shahrukh Khan commented about Salman Khan’s relation with Aishawarya Rai who dumped Salman Khan and married Abhishek Bachchan. Both stars kept quite about the incident for a few weeks but now Salman Khan has talked to the media about the incident and admitted that he had a spat with Shahrukh Khan that night. He said that Shahrukh and I are two very different individuals and we could never be friends.

On the other hand Shahrukh Khan’s production house red chillies has lost the case where legendary Indian actor Manoj Kumar filed a suit in Mumbai session court asking for the deletion of the scenes where his patriotism is spoofed in the movie Om Shanti Om.

Shahrukh Khan’s house “Mannat” which always remained in the news for its real estate value, historical significanc, ideal sea facing location and numerous complains filed by several social organizations, political activists and government authorities.
