Hindi movie reviews, news, Indian celebrities, bollywood gossip blog
I saw this movie last night. Simply it is the worst of all movies I have seen this year. It is a story of Indian and Pakistani families living in Western countries and witnessing that the cultural differences are taking their children away from their roots. Katrina Kaif is British Born Confused Desi girl who thinks that she is more Briton than the British. Her parents, particularly her father wants her to realize that she belongs to a different culture with a slightly different set of ethics. She travels to India with her parents where they try to find her an eligible Indian guy. They visit Hyderabad, Bangalore, Agra to see the Taj Mahal and then they visit Punjab. There they force her to marry Akshay Kumar, who is a village farmer. Finding no way out she marries Akshay Kumar and brings him back to London. Once in London she refuses to accept the marriage. Now Akshay Kumar will have to win her heart before she marries the white guy in her life.
Katrina Kaif looked exceptionally beautiful throughout the movie. So did London, the director spent a great deal of time showing the monumental structures, popular tourist destinations and night life of London. The movie would have worked on me if the director had spend some time on making Akshay’s character a little stronger, improving the dialog delivery of Katrina and Upen and decreased the scenes where white men occupied the party.
Music was below average. The only person who acted well through out the movie was Rishi Kapoor and Javed Sheikh. Javed Sheikh is a Pakistani actor and he plays the role of Pervez, father of Imran Khan (Upen Patel). Upen Patel has absolutely no acting skills at all and I cared less about his acting as I have said earlier that if he is going to roam around shirtless and half naked then I am going to forgive him for his bad acting skills. But unfortunately Upen’s shirtless scenes and his delicious brown body didn’t work that well. The movie was centered around Katrina Kaif and she did her best to look beautiful. I wish she had worked a little more on improving her dialog delivery and acting skills. The movie was branded as a romantic comedy and I failed to find both elements. The romance didn’t occupy the movie and comedy, well someone should tell Akshay that his hera-pheri kind of acting is not going to work for all movies.

A great movie…simply great…not a love story…it is the story of a person’s honesty who pays repect to Indian values…those who are passing wrong comments about this movie…probably they have gone mad…they are not true Indians…they should move out of India…this movie is a landmark for bollywood…I have alreay seen this movie more than 40 times till now…

he says that, whn he ws tryin to tell her that he will still be there when he comes to London again after

I am watching the movie on my TV and writing my opinion as I have understood the rest of story to follow. The story line is typical of so many other movies. Indian film makers have to get over the notion of proving India being better/equal to the rest of the world. The audience has to grow to understand that India is treated as an equal by the rest of the world.
I think the notion of Foreign born confused deshi (note: I am not writing desi) is completely misplaced. Looking at the changing cultural landscape in India, I find myself increasingly believing in the notion of ‘Indian Born confused desi’
Jasmeet’s father (Jazz) took her to India on a sly and forces her to marry. It is incorrect as much as it is incorrect for Jasmeet to marry Arjun with the intent of getting rid of him in London. I ask the girls who will be reading this blog entry whether they would like their parent’s to do what Jasmeet’s parent do. Think.
Movie is without substance – either in acting, music, or story. I am at a loss now as to why I had to write at this length for a movie I would not recommend anybody to watch.

amit u can get lost! the movie was really gd. and wat is wrong with ur parents finding u someone to marry if they they are such a gd person as arjun. yh fair enough wat kat did was wrong but i think it was a great love story. my fav bit was when arjun was riding his motorbike and put 2 hands in the air and did a bit of bhangra! after it was the 1 st time he met kat when their car had broken down. lol

Sabeen Namastey,
I respect your feelings because it is true on your behalf.
& I also respect other’s(Boys) feelings who watches this movie as their own life movie.
I think this movie was whole about real love….
Two very nice dialogues:-
1. “Jab tak haar naa jaayen, tab tak jeetae huye hote hain”
A. Keep trying until you get your goal & Do your best.
A. Keep highest Self-Esteem (Self-worth, Sense of worth).
B. Be confident. Means Be sure of yourself i.e. Be Positive.
2. “Ishq di mere mitra pehchaan ki. Mit jaave jadon jidd apnan di”
A. Forgive each other honestly, heartily & whole-heartedly.
B. Be giving honestly & heartily without any expectations (i.e. likelihood) & obligations (compulsion).
C. Be self-less. It is somewhat hard to do but you can do it….
D. Show excellence of love in relationship.
E. Win the crowd & win each and everyone with love.
According to me, This was whole theme behind the movie…. So, I like it most….
One more thing I think “Katrina Kaif” elapsed her role very well & she was most appropriate
bollywood lady for that role in which One british girl delivered dialogues in hindi
i.e. Hindi with british accent
“British Born Confused Desi girl”
According to me,At last Katrina understands value of love in life & She appeared totally
“cosmopolitan urban” girl, Not even a single time desi….

sisir ranjan dash,
I disagree with you comments about people being non-indian just because they doint like a movie.
I, myself have watched the movie and i think that it is an alright movie. i enjoyed watching it, but it wasnt the most awesome movie. just cuz u like the movie, doesnt mean every1 has 2.
This movie is’nt a “landmark for bollywood”. there have been many movies that cover the topic of indians acting foreign and parent being upset, havn’t u ever watched older indian movies with rich people always going off to places and coming back as non-cultured indians?
