Desi Galaxy - Babe of the month

[This post is part of Babe of the Month Series. Desi Galaxy's Babe of the month for March 2007 is Aishwarya Rai.]

Jodha Akbar is probably the most promising movie Aishwarya Rai has at this moment. She is playing the role of Jodha against Hrithik Roshan as the Mughal emperor Akbar. The movie is based on the lives of Mughal Emperor Akbar the great and his Hindu wife Jodha. Historically it was a marriage of alliance, the main reason Akbar married Jodha was to improve the Mughal relationship with Rajput states. The movie tells us an untold story of love between Akbar and Jodha.

When Jodha entered Akbar’s life, she refused to be treated just like a mere gift from Rajputs. This is the story how Akbar won her heart, assured her that she is not just the queen of India but also the queen of Akbar’s Heart.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who has movies like Lagaan and Swades on his credit. Ashutush doesn’t usually allow people to roam around his sets and locations. But it is rumored that they have created grand sets for the movie at Nitin Desai’s ND studios. An entire set of Agra fort has been made with Darbars and Sheesh Mahal a hall with thousands of mirrors on the walls. Costumes are designed by the top designers in India. Jodha’s costumes are made by Neeta Lallu who is also doing wedding dress for Aishwarya Rai’s wedding. The movie has a bigger than life canvas, It is story of an Emperor who united India under one rule, fought several wars and is reputed to promote a culture of religious tolerance in the country. Bollywood fans has already seen Akbar in the movie Mughal-e-Azam. I don’t know how Ashutush portray’s Akbar but one thing I am sure is that Ashutush’s Akbar the great is a lot more sexy and so is the Jodha, the queen. We know Akbar and Jodha, parents of prince Saleem in the movie Mughl-e-Azam. But it was story of love between Saleem and Anarkali. But even that classic movie has shown that Akbar loved Jodha more than any thing in the world. Ashutush picked this hint and decided to shed some more light on the affair.

its one of the most appealing and memorable artistic movies ever made..
watch it without any prejudice about the cast or thousands of questions about history…just watch it with involvement you “cannot” miss the beautiful soul rendering moments. i feel sorry for those who watch with preoccupied mind concepts they can never enjoy subtle beauty the movies brings..its like soaking in the “beauty of feelings , emotions and soul level music”…….a visual treat… after watching the movie at least for a day or two u will still be wanting to stay with the characters of that era……its like a painting..not so easy to forget.
