Amitab Bachchan was first diagnosed cancer when he was shooting for KBC2. During last few weeks of tests doctors has ruled out the fatal cancer. When the legendary actor was shotting for KBC2 he was getting treatment for affluent tuberculosis. Later he was diagnosed with diverticulitis - an infection of the small intestine, such infections may develop into lethal cancer. Amitabh underwent surgery in a Mumbai hospital in December.

The temple officilas at Triputi told that the Bachan family will soon return to Andhra Pradesh to donate diamond ornaments worth RS. 100 million. Meanwhile Amitabh Bachchan said that his complete recovery from this life threatening illness would take atleast six months.

During his illness, thousands of fans prayed for Bachchan’s health. Many celebrities, industrialists and politicians visited the star. Many Bollywood filmmakers who are currently working with Amitabh are eagerly awaiting his full recovery because the production costs are getting tough on them. Amitabh’s tv show Kaun Banega Crorepati (kbc) is also on hault since no new episodes of the show were filmed since his illness but producers and Bachchans have confirmed that Amitabh will do the show as soon as he feels better.
