Not so long ago Bollywood started to showcase their productions on the web. I doubt that the production houses get any return from the money they put on flashy websites. I haven’t seen any one referring to a movie website while mentioning any bollywood movie. People know that there is an official website for the movie they are talking about but they also know that most such websites are useless.

I think people want to do a little more than just watching trailers and downloading screen savers or wallpapers. People want to read about movie to learn more about plot, story and background information about the songs and the making of the movie. After that people want to know how they can watch the movie but almost all such websites has no option to display a list of theaters playing the movie or some way to provide information about how to buy the DVD or VCD version of the movie. I think movie makers should hire a web team that is as excited about the production as rest of the team. Lack on enthusiasm from the designer and the content writers is quite obvious among all bollywood movie websites. The website of Yash Raj films is definitely the best website from a bollywood based production house.
