Rani Mukherjee
Rani Mukherjee is definitely the number one actoress in Bollywood. Critics lauded her first performances in movies like ‘Raja ki Ayegi Baraat’, ‘Ghulam’, ‘Kuch Kuch hota hai’ and Mehndi. She gained the sex symbol status with the guest appearance in Mann’s song ‘Kali Nagan kai jaisi’ and Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota hai’.
Yash Chopra the legendary indian movie maker generously praised Rani Mukerji several times and Rani has appeared in many movies produced by Yash Raj films. She has worked with all leading actors such as Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. She was also invited to an state dinner when Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf was on official tour to India. Musharraf was quoted by many news agencies saying that she likes Rani Mukharjee movies. While talking to the media Rani said that she feels quite honored to be invited here and that she is all for friendship between the two countries.
Born March 21, 1978 Rani Mukherjee comes from a film clan of Bengali origin. Her father, Ram Mukherjee is a well-known director, while her brother Raja Mukherjee is a film producer. Kajol, another popular actress, is her cousin.Ms. Mukerji has also performed nineteen stage shows in Shahrukh Khan’s commercially successful ‘Temptations 2004′ which had packed audiences all over the world.
Praised by critics and Indian film pundits for her mind blowing performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’. She again gained approval for her performance in the movie ‘Paheli’ with Shahrukh Khan. She is the only woman in Filmfare’s top ten personalities of the Indian Cinema and Filmfare’s top actress of the year 2004.
